How it is paid for
STOIC AS pays for the site. It has no ads, no sponsors and no paid placement, and reading it is free. No publisher pays to be listed or to change how its data is scored.
How numbers get here
Each page has a script that reads the publishers' own files and writes the page's data. A figure that exists only in a PDF or a web table is copied from that table and cited the same way. Every number keeps a link to its source and the date it was retrieved.
AI tools write those scripts and copy those tables, and a second AI review recounts samples of the values against the raw files. The trust score is different: a short program calculates it from the data by a published formula (version 1.0), and no AI sets or adjusts a score.
Errors and corrections
If a number looks wrong, email contact@realstats.info with a link to the page. We check it against the source. If it is wrong we correct the page, and its Updated date changes. You can also send a number you would like checked.
Reusing the data
The trust scores and the text written for RealStats can be reused with credit under CC BY 4.0. The figures come from their publishers, and each publisher's own terms apply to its data; every number links to its source. Some publishers, including International IDEA, the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Freedom House, limit reuse to non-commercial purposes, so check their terms before using their figures commercially. RealStats itself earns nothing from them. Figures are given as published, without warranty, so check the linked source before relying on one for a decision.
Privacy
RealStats sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising scripts and has no accounts. Searches and filters run in your browser, and what you choose appears in the page address so it can be shared, which also puts it in your browser's history. The site keeps nothing else in your browser, and every page, font and data file loads from this site.
Hosting. Cloudflare hosts the site. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes your IP address and details of each request, such as the page and your browser, under its privacy policy. We do not use this to identify visitors.
Email. If you email us, we use your address and message to answer you and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Your rights. STOIC AS is the data controller. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and answering messages (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can ask to see or delete data about you at contact@realstats.info, and you can complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian data protection authority.
Accessibility
We build to WCAG 2.1 AA. Every chart on a statistic page has a table with the same numbers, and the overview charts on topic pages link to those pages. If something does not work with your device or assistive technology, email contact@realstats.info.
